Reaching a goal

Not too long ago, I decided to make some fun headbands for my soon-to-be niece (< 3 weeks to go!) and I soon ended up with 200+ hair accessories. Can you imagine if the doctors misread the sonogram and my sister-in-law had a boy? That would be interesting. Fortunately, we know for sure it is a girl!

Obviously, my niece is not going to need hundreds of hair accessories - even if I think it is necessary. So, I decided to become a vendor for a day to sell my fun hair creations. I got lots of good feedback from other vendors from the show and it was certainly an interesting experience for me because I have absolutely no business experience. My family and Dev's family promised to buy some if no one else did, but fortunately I did sell several of them. I now set up a Facebook page for them and my real goal is to raise money for a charity or fundraiser. So, that is where I am with my mini business adventure.

I am most proud that I actually created and sold some of these hair accessories because there are so many times that I want to get involved with a sport, craft or new hobby and I do nothing about it. Some of my closest friends have also recently succeeded in getting involved with a hobby outside of school/work and I think it is almost a sub-conscience support system - one is taking a hebrew class and one is starting to train for a marathon!

Love,
Juliet
